Reading In The Schools Day Rescheduled For Spring 2021

Reading in the Schools Day Rescheduled for Spring 2021

Reading in the Schools Day has been rescheduled for spring 2021. This event was initially scheduled for Friday, September 18th but due to the uncertainty regarding what in-classroom learning will look like in the fall, and the importance of keeping safety in mind, we’ve chosen to move this beloved day of reading to the spring. This will allow Read To Succeed time to prepare several options for how to successfully and safely conduct this event.

Reading in the Schools Day is an annual event in which Rutherford County elementary schools, private schools, and Murfreesboro City Schools host volunteer readers in their classrooms throughout the day. Over 1,000 classrooms and 20,000 children participate each year.

This event magnifies the importance of reading – in school, at home, and even for fun – to students, parents, and community leaders.

As more information becomes available, we will update our website and information for volunteers wishing to participate.
